On 13th October 2008, I entered freiburg with 60 Kilos of luggage. I dragged it to my dormitory named Ulrich-Zasius-Haus which was around 1 km far from railway station. I found a small pretty room with excellent view of the "Black forest". The first evening of Freiburg was quite tiring and took a little time to get used to the new environment. on 19th October 2008, the first day of REM started. First day and I came 15 minutes late but fortunately Prof. Oesten was on the door and very warmly welcoming all the participants. I saw 26 students from 16 countries. I felt the real internationality in the very first class.

The course was started from that day. The course had very unique structure. The module structure helped me to concentrate on individual subjects rather than concentration to all different subjects and giving exams all together. The 5 modules per semester was also necessary because each module was different from each other and separating them was much more meaningful. The mixture of target areas of the course were technical, economical and management. This was also important to make a good balance in course content and future prospects.

I still remember the wandering in black forest, excursions to renewable energy sites, practical laboratories, case studies and the environment in the class. I have got very good friends from all over the world. The place where I studied and the place where I lived were full of extra ordinary friends and they made my life wonderful in Freiburg. Freiburg was really a amazing place and REM has increased the value to it. In my memories, I always thank the university for such a wonderful course and also supporting the student at individual level.

I am also thankful to the course coordinator Mr. Stefan Adler who gave his best assistance on the spot and helped the student in no time. I would also pay my thanks to Prof. Gerhard Oesten under whose leadership the course took birth and such wonderful Renewable Energy Managers took birth.
